1. God’s promise of eternal life and glory
In John 3:16 it says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” In this scripture, God is giving us the promise that when our life is over here on earth we will have everlasting life with Him forever in heaven.
2. His promise to those of us who can withstand the test and trials and endure and overcome
1 Peter 5:10 says this, “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, established, strengthen and establish you.” This tells us that trials will come but he will give us the strength to stand our ground and overcome any situation.
3. God promises us that if we come as we are he will transform us into new people.
In Colossians 3:3-4 he says, “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” He is telling us that he will do the work within us and we have the opportunity through him to become new creations. 4. He promises us that we get to know what eternity really is.
2 Peter 3:13 says, “Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” Right now as humans we really don’t know what eternity is because we are mortals, but with God, we will know firsthand what eternity really is.
5. He promises us that we will never be alone.
In Isaiah 41:10 it says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you.” Here he is promising us that we will never be alone. This is one of the best promises of God in the Bible.
6. God promises us that he loves us like His own children.
In 1 John 3:1 it says, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” That’s it period. He loves us like His very own children.
7. We don’t have to earn God’s love.
1 John 4:10 says that “In this love, not that we have loved God but he loved us and sent us his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” This promise tells us that we don’t have to earn his love by doing good works. This promise is the most reassuring promises of God in the bible.
8. God is for us not against us.
Romans 8:31 says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us who can be against us?” He is for us all the time!
9. He is faithful to us even when we are not faithful to Him.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 states, “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” He is promising us that He will always be faithful to us.
10. Every promise of God is true
Psalm 30:5 says, “Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” We don’t ever have to worry because everything God says is true. Promises of God in the bible are absolutely true.
